The increasing skill shortages in the logistics sector have been well documented, a scenario felt more acutely in Essex given the scale of local sector growth. Given the logistical requirements within the armed forces, many veterans will have exactly the kind of skills which will enable them to enjoy a successful career in logistics. There is a clear demand for the skills that they can bring.

Not only will the Attention to Logistics programme ensure that 300 veterans who demonstrate the best of values are supported back into employment, it will also do so in a way that supports the continued economic growth within the Thames Gateway and highlight the career opportunities in the wider logistics industry.
