Port of Tilbury

It has been estimated that the Port supports approximately 8,350 full-time equivalent jobs across the region, with the value of cargo passing through the Port estimated to be approximately £8.7 billion. Through Port activities, it is estimated that it contributes £390 million to the economy representing 0.3% of the regional total.

Opened in 2014 by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Port of Tilbury Logistics Academy has already seen 2,500 people attend its various training programmes, including 70 apprentices and trainees. The Academy provides a range of mandatory technical and management training for 120 companies and 3,500 port employees.
